Hello, I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with honors from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California. I specialize in attachment and trauma work with couples and adults ages 25 through 100. I’m trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy that focuses on figuring out a couples (dating, premarital, married, living together) negative pattern that is repeated over and over and over again in their relationship and then change that negative pattern with healthy communication focusing on emotions. I’m also trained in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy for depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, and other life issues. I also use Brainspotting for trauma. I integrate Christianity into therapy for those who are interested. Stylistically, I’m a warm, kind, caring, supportive, and accepting therapist without judgment.
I’m married and have two happily married adult children and one very cute granddaughter. My passion in life is to help people to heal and develop emotionally healthy relationships, leading to a fulfilling and meaningful life.
How did I arrive at this place in my life doing what I love, making a positive difference in people’s lives? I’ve always had an interest in and curiosity about, people and relationships as far back in my life as I can remember. As a young adult, my undergraduate teaching degree included a concentration in family life and child development. I looked forward to and loved those classes. As I had my children and read child development books, I became increasingly interested in helping people through counseling. When I volunteered as a peer counselor at my church, I knew that my passion was to be a therapist. Some years later I received my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. My greatest satisfaction in life comes from guiding and helping people who are hurting and discouraged to a life filled with peace and joy.
